Leave a message for the community to recognize Robb’s life and impact on us.
Dear Malone Family, I am so sorry for your loss. I knew Robb from the many years we’d see each other at the annual RFMA Conference and industry events. Robb was a great guy whose smile could – literally – light a room. He was always kind and thoughtful and he will be missed. Prayers for you and your family as you go through this difficult time.
I worked at FAIR School for 13 years and Robb Malone was one of the GREATEST parents to ever walk through the doors of our special school. He was a light to everyone he encountered and treated everyone with love, respect and kindness. He was a devoted father who volunteered his time and it shows. His children are beautiful and reflect that love and kindness. I feel very blessed to have had the extreme pleasure of knowing him.
35 years wasn’t enough time. I can remember watching you play ball, such a great athlete. I still think I was the better official, Lol. Of course, all the shenanigans off the court was when the real fun happened. Ricky, Pook, Jonie, Netta, and the list goes on…Sometimes I regret the years away from Minni down south and the time lost with the group. I was so thankful to have time with our friends
and goddaughter once again when I moved back in 2015 and then bamm cancer. Now that I beat that, poof you are gone. SMH…as a nurse, I thought the hardest part in my life was not being able to fix my cancer. You know I am a control freak, HA!! Putting it in someone else’s hands, WHAT?. Today I know it is not being able to fix the system and who got vaccinated when. My heart breaks each old photo I look at of you. Know this, I have been on a campaign since, not only to vaccinate, but help sign up anyone that hasn’t been and educate those afraid from bogus social media posts. You know I will walk up to anyone and tell them whats up, Lol. You should not have had to wait so long for yours. Coffee is like air for healthcare and your business truly essesntial when we have no time between shifts to make our own. You will not be forgotten and I dream of the day we meet again in heaven. Love ya man, enjoy the streets of gold! Catch you on the court, when I get to come up.
I coached Jamen in hockey in squirts and Robb was a memorable parent from that team. Always a smile on his face, positive attitude, and helped bring fun to any situation. Wishing the Malone family peace and comfort during this difficult time. – Levi
Steve and I live in the home that Ralina lived in before their current home. Robb was walking by last summer and I heard him say, “I built that deck!” Well, I went out and we introduced ourselves…and it was as if we knew each other for years. We would run into each other on the drive…I got to meet the kids along the way. Our hearts go out to you, Ralina, and kids. We have walked by your home and always feel inspired by the messages in your window, the hearts on the lawn, the PEACE message on the driveway. May your faith and the many people who care be a support in this very difficult time. Our deepest sympathy, Vicki and Steve
This is beyond sad, my condolences to his family and friends. My son will miss him this football season.
Robb was a good man. I had the good fortune to work with him and The Wolfe family. He was kind, generous and always had that big smile. He even helped out my late mother in law who he didn’t even know by installing a new water heater for her.
RIP Robb you will be missed.
My condolences to the family.
Relina and Family,
I am so sorry to hear of Robb’s passing. My daughter and Teagan were in soccer together many years ago when you were pregnant with the twins. I recall having many conversations with Robb about a wide variety of topics while watching our girls and cheering them on. As a graduate of South High, Robb and I had much to discuss since I teach there. What a great guy! Please know that his influence is far-reaching and you’ll never really know how many lives he touched with his generosity of spirit. Take comfort in the memories
I remember chaperoning field trips with Robb at IDDS, seeing him on the parkway, at piano recitals. Robb had a light about him, genuinely kind human. There is a hole left in this world. Relina and kids, I am so sorry for your loss. This is also a loss for our community as he impacted many.
Robb was one of the first people I met when I started working at Caribou HQ. I was lucky enough to have sat across the aisle from him in ‘cube-land’. He liked his office chair seat low to ground and leaning way back. I remember how he would saunter in to the office with his coffee and backpack everyday, greeting anyone he crossed paths. He always had a smile and a “hello” for everyone. His laugh was infectious and he had such a great outlook on life. Often times if a tool was needed, tape measure, screwdriver, whatever it was, most likely Robb had one in his desk drawer. Helping people was in his nature and it was never a bother to him. I could tell he liked doing it. After I left Caribou, I was always hopeful that our paths would cross again.
Even though he is physically gone, I know his spirit will be a part of me forever.
Rest in love and peace, Robb. Thank you for being my friend and one of the best cube-mates a person could ask for.
Sending my love and strength to all of you.
I had the true PLEASURE of knowing Robb. I’ve worked with Robb for quite a few years on Caribou
projects and truly enjoyed his insights, jokes and just his comments. He had a spirit about him that made everyone comfortable. Robb will be missed by anyone that had the opportunity to meet Robb and certainly talk with him, if even only for a few minutes. You will be missed greatly. I hope Robb’s family holds him in their hearts for ever. Taken too soon, too young, too important.
The community will be there for his family as long as needed.
We are just shocked and so sad to hear of Robb’s passing. Our hearts go out to his dear wife Relina and their beautiful children. Robb was the Little League Coach of for our youngest 7 years ago, Christopher Schell (Mini Gator). Robb was always so patient and willing to just drop what he was doing to always help the kids. We always enjoyed seeing him up at the fields and around the Victory Neighborhood and catching up on everything he had going on. Always with a smile on his face and a spring in his step. Truly a remarkable person in so many ways .
I moved to Victory neighborhood in 1998, Robb and Relina were some of my very first friends/neighbors and when I needed it, whatever support system was needed in the moment. I remember running across the alley when my garage was ‘hit’ for the first time and my bike stolen to find Robb (with Relina giving the full nod to his lead in strength) offering the feeling of security I needed to go back to my house after that He could make us feel ok and safe and was there and willing to do it. Early on Robb was often finding me and offering help, because I was never good at asking but he was so very good at giving!! We would joke that he was the fill-in handyman for all the single ladies in the neighborhood that just needed an extra hand from time to time. I am also struck by remembering how, if I would see him first in the community, I could palatably sense the excitement waiting for him to see me – because he WOULD, really SEE ME and express such joy and genuine interest in that momentary encounter that it became one of life’s smallest yet greatest joys – just those encounters with Robb, whenever and wherever they might happen. And I imagine so many others having that same experience, many times a day. One man, showing up in such a profound way for so many every day. I cannot imagine or process the larger questions of what or why or even how this unexpected tragedy is here now. And I am filled daily with bittersweet remembrances of Robb, gratitude for all of them and a reminder to stop taking such precious opportunities for granted. I am honored to have had the opportunity to spend time with Robb and his family and hope to connect with Relina, Teagan, Kensie, Jamen, Ty and Talia again soon. I am doing my best to hold all of you in love and light and honor the memory of Robb with actions of kindness and connection in the world – his life was and is inspirational and I will live that to the best of my ability in his honor!!
So sad to hear news
Rob was a really great guy- what a loss for family and friends
I am so deeply sorry to learn of Robb’s untimely passing. We were nearby little league baseball opponents (5th & 6th grade), middle school classmates, then h.s. classmates and teammates (in basketball, baseball, football and track – how we did all that I still don’t know!)/classmates at Marshall, South and even a year at Bemidji St. where Robb played football; me: basketball. This guy was an incredible friend and teammate. Always super hardworking, positive, very funny and conscientious. I’m sad that we didn’t keep in touch – but I enjoyed running into him around town and at events; always with a big smile and a hug. He was an incredibly resilient person who did not let life circumstances curtail his outlook – optimistic, caring, compassionate, decent — additive to the world. Prayers for the Malone family. Will miss you bro!
Robb was a kind, positive and generous person. I always enjoyed our conversations over chicken wings (let him have the flats!) and a beer, where we would talk hockey, baseball, our kids and the world around us. I am sad that we will not ever able to go grab a beer and plate of wings again.
Relina, you and your children are in our families prayers during this time and we are here to help out if you need anything.
I saw your story on KARE 11 and was very moved. Robb sounds like an amazing man and I am so sorry for your loss. I grew up in Robbinsdale and have wonderful memories. I pray your family finds comfort in your memories as well.
I was shocked and saddened by the news of Robb passing. He had a great smile, laughter and attitude. Family was #1 for him, and sports a close runner up. Robb had an easy going nature, but a passion for whatever he was working on at the time. I am honored to have known him, and am a better person because I did.
I wish I knew where to begin. We met because our oldest daughters became close friends beginning in 4th grade. The Malone family became an extension of mine as they welcomed me into the lives along with Sjournee. Many nights on the patio discussing life and laughing. Supporting and ride sharing fir our children in endless theater productions. Their home became a respite for us – on so many occasions over the years. Robb was an anchor for my daughter and was a huge supporter- like an father figure for her. Our hearts and home is always open to Relina and the kids. Whatever we can do to support, we will. The same way you always supported us. Robb’s spirit will always live on in our hearts forever. May we all give as much as he did. Be blessed.
Teacher Sherri loved your family and watching those adorable kids grow and your family expand. I have thought of you often over the years. I am sick and sad thinking about what your beautiful family is going through. I will be in mpls the entire month of August. I hope our paths cross. Sending love and prayers for peace until then.
We are shocked and deeply saddened at the news of the passing of Robb. While we never got to know him personally, we got to see him on a regular basis when we were at Caribou Coffee Headquarters. We had a nickname for him, as we would call him “2-B Robb” (as in the two “b’s” instead of the one ). He would pass by us and say “Hi guys!” whenever he saw us, or have a joke for us. We especially remember the time that he spilled his coffee all over his shirt and he wasn’t even super upset about it. He just brushed it off like it was a silly mistake. Our deepest condolences and love goes out to the coworkers, friends and especially the family of Robb.
Relina and family, we are so sorry to hear of the passing of Robb. I remember you and Robb when we were all just starting our families-we were working at FIrst Chiropractic. Robb”s smile would light up the room. It is such a tragedy. Our hearts are with you.
Robb Malone was one of the most kind hearted and genuine people I’ve ever know. Although I only had brief conversations at hockey games, he knew just how to brighten everyone’s day. Robb was caring and funny among many other things. He will be missed in this world. Wishing your family healing and peace.
Robb is one of those Guys that makes every one feel welcome and special. He always had a big smile that was infectious. He was a great family man, coach and friend. He was never afraid to stick out, riding one of the Malone’s three wheel low riding bikes (contraption) down the parkway. We are so Sad that Ralina, Teagan, Kensie, Jamen, Talia and Ty won’t get to spend more time with Robb making more life memories. We are here for you with what ever you need. Our prayers are with you all.
My heart goes out to the family and friends for their loss of Rob Malone as his passing can only leave a gapping void of love, gentility, care and support as those are the immediate words and thoughts of my friend and teammate!!!
Prayers of healing go out to Relina and the entire family during this time of tragic loss.
We are so sorry for the loss of Robb Malone. Our families have crossed paths for 15 years. This loss hits hard for us and so many. Relina, we think of every day. We support you and love all of you! Be Well and please reach out for anything.
